2. How We Use Information
- Provide and secure the Service (authentication, account management, moderation, safety, preventing fraud/abuse, and enforcing our Terms and Guidelines);
- Location-enabled experiences (verifying university eligibility, showing nearby parties, and generating aggregated activity metrics that do not reveal your precise identity to other users);
- Personalized content and ads (including cross-context behavioral advertising, where permitted);
- Research and analytics (including aggregated/anonymous insights);
- Legal compliance (responding to lawful requests, enforcing rights, and protecting users and the public); and
- Communications (service announcements, security alerts, and, with your consent where required, marketing messages).
3. How We Share Information
- Service Providers. Hosting, analytics, messaging/notifications, customer support, and security vendors under contracts that limit their use of your data.
- Advertising & Analytics Partners. We may share limited identifiers and usage data to facilitate measurement and personalized advertising, subject to your platform settings and choices described below.
- Safety & Legal. We may access, preserve, and disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to: comply with law, regulation, or legal process (e.g., subpoena, court order); protect any person from harm; detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect Frfr’s rights or property.
- Affiliates; Corporate Events. We may share with affiliates or transfer information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- With Your Direction. We share information when you instruct us, or with your consent.
4. Anonymous Posting
Posts labeled “anonymous” are not publicly linked to your account, but are internally associated with your account, device, and other technical data. We do not disclose that linkage except as necessary for safety, integrity, lawful requests, or as otherwise described in this Policy.
5. Your Choices
- Location. You can control location permissions in your device settings. Some features will not function without location.
- Notifications. Manage push notifications in app or OS settings.
- Advertising Choices. On iOS, use App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and reset your advertising identifier. You can also limit personalized ads in your device settings. Where applicable, we honor opt-out signals and provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” control for California residents.
- University Email & Phone. These are required for verification and account integrity; deleting them may disable your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain information as long as necessary to provide the Service (and for legitimate business needs such as security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance). Retention periods vary by data type and applicable law. We may retain anonymized/aggregated information indefinitely.
7. Security
We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data we process. No system is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
8. International Users
Information may be processed in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
